In March last the Australian Navy Department promulgated a scale of revised rates of .pay for. officers and men, and the main features as far as (hey can be compared with Ihe British,rate's are given below. They reveal that whereas Ihe Australian naval oflicer was formerly better paid than his contemporary of corresponding rank in ,lhe Imperial Navy, the position is now generally reversed.
