Sir—Would you please publish tho following: I returned to' New Zealand last May and'l applied for a war pension on July 1 last, which I iiavo every right to claim. Somo time elapsed and'l.received no acknowledgment of my claim; they informed me. I would bo fixed up in a week's time. Six weeks have elapsed since,' and I have written consistently and. havo received no reply whatsoever, which, in my opinion, is not fair play nt all.' I think it high time the Pension Department'woke up—l am, etc, ■ ■' DISABLED DIGGER. [Tho above letter was referred to the Officer in Charge of AVar Pensions, who said that it would be impossible to inves-' tignto tho complaint unless our correspondent, gave, his name, and other particulars. 'When a soldier applies lor a pension, the oflico at once sends for his medical papers. 1* thero is unavoidable delay in obtaining these, the soldier may for a fortnight hoar nothing about tho result of his application.. At tho end of a fortnight, however, if the. papers are still not to hand, : tho applicant's letter is acknowledged and tho position explained.
