Its novel staging, brilliant lighting and orchestral ehects, together w.th tne rapid changing of the various episodes by mechanical means, make it lull of interest irom start to finish. Tne box plans for the first six nigliM of the season are now open at tho Bristol. "DAMAGED GOODS." Present indications are said to point ti> a mgfily successlul season of the film "Damaged Goods," which is to be shown for tho rirst time here to-morrow night at the Town Hall. Mr. I'ortus, who is controlling "Damaged Goods," states that the ojxmiiig season in Sydney this week was marked by huge attendances, his cable advice reading that the police had been requisitioned to handle tne crowds there. Tiie story built round "Damaged Goods" is of ah unusual character, but nevertheless the author has, in his wisdom, provided a wealth of human interest in an absorbing theme of dramatic climaxes. It is true that tho motif displeases a section of any community, but as the appeal is directed at the massen the minority have to be disregarded in the handling of such an important public question. i'esterday afternoon at the King's Theatre a gathering of invited public men assembled to privately view "Damagad Goods." The box plans are on view at the Bristol. C.T.'S MALE CIIOIK. The commercial travellers' male choir, under Mr. Temple White, will make its first appearance before the public, in the Concert Chamber this evening. The choir, which has been heard "in club" 011 several occasions, will sing a very excellent variety of part songs, including "Oil the March" (Becker), "O peaceful Night" (Ed. German), "Hymn Before Action" (H. AValford Davies), "The Beleaguered" (Sir Arthur Sullivan), and the glee "If Doughty Deeds" (Cobb). Vocal solos will be contributed by Miss Eileen Driscoll, Messrs. Hugh wright s J. Searle, Charles and Jenkins, and ill'. Norman Watson will play a violin solo. Mr. Harold "Whittle will prefide at tho pianoforte. WELLINGTON SCOTTISH SOCIETY. The Wellington Scottish Society and Tipe Band have obtained the Town Hall for October 11, when they will give one of their well-known performances. The booking plan is at the Bristol.
