MEETING OF MEMBERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, October. 2. At a general meeting ot' members of the Canterbury .Tockey Club the ctinirmnn, Mr. Alex. Boyle, made a eulogistic referenco to the services ot the retired secretarv, Mr. W. H. K. Watiklyn, and on his motion Mr. V."-nklvn was made an honorary life member of the club. Tn nnswor to a question the chairman said if it were the desire of members the Government would bo approached for permission to install, a double tolnlisator. Mr. .T. Wethel suggested that in races where, nine or more liotscs ran a portion of tiie lolnlisator investments should bo (riven to the third horse. He also gested. that where two or more horses trained by the same trainer ran in a race they should bo bracketed on the totnlisator. It was agreed that these weie mnttera for the Racing Conference t<> decide. In refcrenco to the new stand, it was mentioned that, the necessary seasoned timber could not be obtained in the Dominion. and its erection could not yet ,bo proceeded with.
