ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
The weekly meeting of the Wellington Football Association was held on Wednesday, Mr. W. Auld presiding.-. No reply having been received from Wangamii for the Brown Shield match on Saturday, it was decided to ti&tgraph them that tlie Association would go. 011 with their local fixtures and play the Brown Shiold game oil October 11. Institute -tth A team was granted permission to play Excelsior (Christchurch) 011 Saturday next at Wellington. A deputation from the schools was received with reference to furthering the Association game next season.. Brother Eusihims .spoke of several improvements which couul be made with reference to selecting the various representative teams. Mr. Pritchard (Isirfnd Bay) also made suggestions re tlio masters being made selectors for all schoolboy representative games.". It was decided to hold another meeting of tho schoolmasters early next season before the annual meeting of the Association. • Tho following team has been chosen to represent. Wellington v, Wangnnui in the Brown ShieldDellmmie (goai); Bell, M'Artliur (backs), M'Artliur, M'Girr, Thompson (halves), J. Smith, M'Elligott, 'iTott, Ballard, Knowles-Smith (forwards). Wells. 7th (Final).—St. Anna's v. Marist N, at Kilbiniie, at 3 p.m.; referee, Mr. H. Yenmans.
