On Saturday night the F. and S. steamer Essex arrived back from Waitara to complete loading. She is scheduled to sail tor Liverpool, via Panama, on Thursday. To-morrow afternoon the New Zealand Shipping Company's Hororata will leave for Auckland to complete discharge. The Stella is to leavo 10-morrow for Lyttelton with transhipments. She returns to Wolllngtoii witli a cargo of produce and .then loads scrap-iron and general cargo for Dunedin. vTo-day the Calm is to go on to Wanganui. To-night the Kahika, is to proceed to Westport. The Poherua is due to-inorrow from Greymouth with coal. The Kokiri is to go on to Greymouth this evening. Mr. .J. Cain has joined tho Kamona, as chief officer at Lyttelton in succession to Mr. L. H. Hunter-Purvis, who has resigned from tho company for the purpose of entering business on his own account in Taiihcreniluut. Prior to joining tho Union Company's service, Mr. Purvis, was captain of one of the Anchor Company's boats.
