THE SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP WON BJT Y.M.C.A. The senior Association football championship was decided on Saturday, and resulted in a win for Y.M.C.A., who defeated Thistle by three goals to nil. Considerable interest' was centred in the match, and' the,game was watched with enthusiasm by a large gathering of spectators. • The, winners of the championship last year were I'orirua, with Marist second, and the Y.M.C.A. third. This year Porirua only gained fifth place, and ■Mnrist fourth. Last year Y.M.C.A. secured the victory in the Charily Cup Competition, and there is every indication.on their present showing that they will be the victors again this. year. l'lny opened with both teams fairly evenly matched, but after some time Y.M.C.A. forwards established their superiority and did the greater part, of (he offensive work. While they were certainly superior in their forward line, Y.JI.C.A. were not well supported by the backs, tho Thistle learn boing very strong.'una safe in the back division. In,
