PETONE TENNIS CLUB

At the annual meeting of the Petone Tenuis Club Mr. W. F. Sturmaii presided over. a good attendance of members. Tho report stated that the finan-cial-position of the club was very satisfactory. The members had had an enjoyable season,-and some very interestin"' "nines wore plavcd. Petone was successful in winning the" ladies' inter-club competition with their A team, Pctono B coming second. A feature of the competition was that the A team did not lose a game. The B team suffered defeat only to the A team. The election of Officers resulted as fol-lows-.—President, Mr. 11. C. Kirk; vicepresident, Messrs. J. W. M'Ewan, W. G. Loddor, and \i. Fox; treasurer, Mr. L. Marsdeii; auditor, Mr. _ "W.. F. Sturman; management committee, Messrs. Collins. Parkinson, Hutchinson. Sturman and Haslani; selection committee, Messrs. Duncan, Parkinson, and Sturman. Tho opening day of the season was fixed for Saturday, October 11.
