ASSAULT AND ROBBERY
OUTRAGE IN AUCKLAND.

Auckland, September 28. ■A sensational story of how he was attacked bv two men in a back street at Parnell and .robbed of J)4O on Thursday night is recounted by William Waugih, a man of sixty years, who lies in Auckland Hospital suffering from concussion of the brain. The victim of the assault was found lying in a pool of blood, unconscious, in a dark corner of Selwyn Terrace, late on Thursday night. Waugh had a wallet containing ,£4O, the proceeds of a business transaction, in his pocket. He states tint he was set upon suddenly by two men. He remembers feeling a blow on the head and someone going through his pockets. His assailants were strongly built, but owing to the darkness ho could not see their features.
