PROTECTION OF SOLDIERS' BUSINESSES
Br Telegranh-Prcjii AHoeiatlon. Christchurch, September 25. Apropos of competition from Chinese affecting returned soldiers who arc assisted by the Repatriation" Department, Mr. Frostick, District Commissioner of the National Efficiency Board, states that recently correspondence passed between tho head office of tho board and the Governtfent on tho question of continuing this regulation for the protection of soldiers' businesses, and although tho regulation had not yet been gazetted out it is for all practical purposes dead as far as tho National Efficiency Board is concerned. Whilst nominally the National Efficiency Commissioners hnvo control under tho regulation it has for some time been deemed to bo inoperative.
