DAFFODIL SHOW
THE EIIODES-GIBSON' COMPETITION. Br Teleer.-iDh—Press Auop.lktlau. Christchurch, September 23. At tho Canterbury Horticultural Society's daffodil show the principal feature was the competition between seedlings raised by Colonel E. Heaton Bhodes, M.P. (A. E. Lowe, gardener) and imported varieties grown by K. Gibson, of T.aranaki. The blooms shown were of magnificent colour and texture. The judges (Messrs. 'J'. Waugh, Lower Hutt, and A. W. Eeeves) declared Mr. Gibson's daffodils to be tho finer, but no points wero announced, which was disappointing to the enthusiasts present, who awaited the result with great interest.
