The report and balance-sheet presented at the eighteenth annual meeting of the Petone Rowing Club showed, that the year had commenced with liabilities to the amount of .£lB9 10s., and at the close of the year the liabilities totalled .£202, and assets .£SSI Us. (id., leaving a credit surplus of .£382 lis. Gd. Owing to the influenza epidemic, the report continues, the season was not opened until January, 'ami coupled with the fact that many of the active members wero away on active service, rowing was for a time .practically at a standstill. In the inter-club regatta held last yearthe first' of its kind since the beginning of the war—the club was successful in winning four out of five events. During tho past season trophies for the club matches wero donated by Messrs. B. Tremain, T. Blvthe, R. Moore, J. Ingham, C. H. Burridge, and Mrs. L. C. Drummond. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows-.—Patron, Mr. P. Mothes; president, Mr. C. Collett; captnin, Mr. W. Hume; vice-enptam, Mr. R. Ford; secretary, Mr. O.
