LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
RAILWAY PERMITS Sir.—As one o£ the travelling publio by train from the Wuirarapa on Wednesday afternoon. I wish to record my appreciation of the iarring and bone-screwing devices adopted at starting from nearly everv station. Tho effect on any unfortnnato travelling for medical advice should be attended with permanent success. To add to the comfort of passengers, one half-somnolent traveller on essential business was allowed to parade several carriages and pester them with requests for papers or money to Buy a ticket. This is tho way to'stop people from travelling, and I wish to eongratulute the Department on its methods.—l am. etc.. J. MARTIN.
