DISASTROUS FLOODS IN TEXAS
GREAT LOSS OP LIFE. New York, September 16. The magnitude of tho Texas floods disaster is growing. The loss of life is probably a thousand. So far two hundred bodies have been recovered. Several small towns have been demolished. Five hundred people are believed to have been drowned at Robstown. Three thousand people are homeless. The British steamer Bayronton foundered. A portion of the crew were rescued. The town of Corpus Christi is under martial law.—Router. New York, September 17. . Tho total loss of life in Texas is 250.
