LT'.AVES TO-MORROW AFTERNOON. 11 .M.S. New Zealand will leave Wellington finally, in prosecution of her tour round the world, to-morrow afternoon. The deception Ccmmtitee, which did «) much to make the stay of Admiral Jellicoe and the officers and men of the New Zealand pleasant here, express tho hope that' the people of Wellington will make a point of visiting tho Waterfront in Oriental Bay and elsewhere, to give the New Zealand a rousing farewell. The Garrison Officers' Club, of Wellin"ton, is to-day to present to tho wardroom of H.M.S. New Zealand a handsome contribution to the vessel's plate, in the form of a solid silver cigar-box. The, box is double-lidded, and each lid bears a fitting inscription. On the centre-piece of the box etnnds two solid silver kiwis—the wingless bird so often used to symbolise NV.v Zealand.

A SEARCHLIGHT DISPLAY. Many thousands of people were entertained' bv an elaborate display by tho searchlights on H.M.S. Now Zealand between G. 30 and 7 o'clock last evening. Som's fivo 'searchligl'ts were in action, and for half-nn-hour they cut brilliant pathways of light in every direction; garishly illuminating the terraces of houses in Oriental Bay, Mt. Victoria, and Kelburn, and, in conjunction, forming weird cross formations after the fashion of futuristic imaginings. A great number of people visited Oriental Bay t: watch the display, which will be repeated at the same hour this evening.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has appointed the Venerable Ucorgo Kestell Kestell-Cornish, M.A., Keble College, Oxford, Archdeacon of Madagascar, to be Anglican Bishop of Madagascar, in the place" of Bishop King, who has been appointed secretary of the S.P.G,
