ESCAPADE OF TWO LADS
A special sitting of tho ,Tuvenil» Court was held on Wednesday, and was presided over by Mr.. W. (t. Kiddell, S.M., when tlie escapades of two small ■bovs wore revealed. Apparently tired of tho life at the Wcraroa Training Farm, they left there without leave and got as far as Upper. Ilutt, where- thov broke ond entered the shop of Mr. H. B. Cunlifle and requisitioned such things as cigarettes, chocolates, and similar articles which usually appeal to small boys, and also appropriated £7 in money. Travelling by train means securing a permit, and the lads evidently knew that, for, wishing to proceed to' tho Wairarapa, and not relishing making tho journey on' foot, they stole a couple of bicycles nnd rode as far as Grcytown, where the machines were abandoned, and the lads walked on to Carterton. At £arterton one of the lads requisitioned" a horse and redo tho animal to Masterton, where he was apprehended by tho police. Tho other lad was caught, at Carterton while endeavouring tq secure a mount by illegal means.. Mr. W. G. liiddoll, after hearing tho evidence, ordered tho boys to he sent'back to the Wcraroa Training Farm.
