Mr. Temple, who presided, eaiil that the object of tie meeting was to determine whether tho league was. to continue in its present form or disband. They had set out to obtain guarantees for .£5(10 with which to pay an organising secretary, but their efforts had resulted in only halt that amount being obtained. It had ken suggested to him that the loaguo ehould affiliate with the Chamber of Commerce, and ho thought it a very good suggestion. Mr. Chapman doubted whether the original ideas of the league could be carried out by the Chamber of Commerce, which 'was a purely commercial concern. Mr. Nnylor said that the canvass for fund? had disclosed the apathy of the people generally. . Only a tew W contributed i;; the right smrit. Bunny presiding, the Course Committee was 'authorised to have the plough hack top-dressed. The terms of the Carterton Borough Council for tho use of the high pressure water supply was approved. Messrs. Bunny, Bnirstow, ami Deller were appointed a printing and advertising committee. Twelve now members were elected, . . The Fontherston County Council is arranging a deputation from Wnirarapa local bodies, together with thfi members for Wnirarapa'and Masterton, to meet tho Primo Minister to urge some improvements to tho Himutaka Eoad. Mr. F. Groube, who, after 17 years service with'tho Wnirampa Brick, Tile, and Drainpipe Company, Ltd., has resigned, in order to follow farming nt Wnihakeke, w,;s presented by the staff ivith a token of esteem.

reported that Mr. A. A. Mitchell, of the Lower Aornngi Bond, Kairanga, had donated a silver cup for class for three-year-old draught lillies nt the Spring Show. At a meeting of the committee of the Mannwatu A. and ]'. Association a member referred to, the carriage of stock on Hid railway, and said that ho had been endeavouring to get a stud bull away, but bad been unable to do so. Mr. .T. M. Johnston asked th* speaker if he hud approached the local railway, goods transport committee on the matter, to which a reply was given that ho had Kone straight to headquarters. Mr. L. 11. Collinsoii (chairman of the Transport Committee) pointed out that the railways would carry all breeding , stock, but specially excluded racehorses.
