SUGGESTIONS FOR PREVENTING EXTINCTION. (Rec. September 18, 0.10 a.m.) Sydhney, September 17. The Fiirmors' Conference recorded its opinion that the most effective means of preventing the extinction of the wheat industry was for the Federal Government to guarantee a minimum price of ss. 6d. per bushel for « period of three years; that' on wheat bo sold for local consumption at less than tho export parity; that milling wheat now held by tho various pools be not sold locally or for export at less than 7s. per bushel—Press Issn.
