GENERAL ELECTIONS
THE OHINEMTJRI SEAT. Tho member for Ohinemuri (Mr. H. Poland) is not standing at the next elections as a supporter of the Ward Party. He has not for a good many years been a strong party man, having adopted hie own line pretty much in the House. At tho caucus of the party, held at the beginning of the sessiou, he told his fellow-members that he woiijd not again stand as a supporter of Sir Joseph Ward. He will be opposed at tho election bv Mr. Clark, who ran him closely.-in the 1914 contest, and with the new boundaries the electorate is considered a worse ono for , the Wardist- candidate than in that year. \ BOTOEUA SEAT. Mr. E. Plielan, secretary to" the Auckland Timber Worker*' Union, has been asked to contest the Kotorua sent at the next general election as a Labour candidate. .
