FOUND DEAD
BODY DISCOVERED ON MAKAKA BEACH. Early yesterday 'morning the city police received a communication from Alakara that the body of a. woman' was lying on Ihu bench. Constables Anderson and Couzons proceeded to the coast, and brought tlie body to the morgue, vhe.ro it vajs identified a≤ that of a single woman nmnod' Gertrude Sarah Knight, aged 49 years. On Tuesday evening Miss Knight, who resided 165 Abel Smith Street, and had been staying with friends at Northland, was missed, and fears wero entertained for her safety, as she had been in ill-health for some time past Apparently she had walked to Makara beach,, where she was .subsequently found dead. An inijuert will probably be held today.
