ANNUAL MEETING (IF ASSOCIATION EIGHT BALL OVER FOR CLUB MATCHES
The annual meeting of tho Wellington Cricket Association was held last evening, Mr. A. F. Wiren was voted to tho chair. The chairman moved, tho adoption of the annual report and (already published) and in doing so referred to the fact' that Wellington won tho Plunket Shield for tho first tjmo last season, only to loso it again in tho next match with the previous' holders (Cantew bury). ,Ho also referred to the Colts v, Veterans match, played last season in aid of the Returned Soldiers' Club, and stated that • in. his opinion the match should be played each season, suggesting November 30 as a suitable date.
Mr. D. M'Kenzio seconded tho adoption of,the report, which was carried unanimously.
St. Thomas's Scouts Old Boys Club applied for permission to enter a team in the third-grade competition. Tho application was loft ill tho hands of the incoming committee to deal with.

Hutchings moved, in the absence of Mr. IC. Tucker, "that in club cricket' eight balls constitute ■an over." Mr, Crombio seconded tin motion. Mr. D,' M'Kenrio opposed tho motion, his com' tention being that it, was asking too much of (ho bowler, and gave tho advantage, if any, to,the batsman. Sevoral dolegates for and, wrninst tho motion spoke, and amongst thoso for the over as it stood at present, was Mr. S. Brice, the well-known fast bowler.' Mr. IT. Burton moved ns an amendment "that tho over be seven balls." The aineudmeut was not seconded. • Mr. Murphy was of tho opinion that in the first mntches of tho season an over should constitute eight balls, and moved a further amendment in that direction. It was lost on the voices. The motion was carried. Several appreciative references were mado bv delegates present to the work done by tho lion, secretary' and treasurer (Mr. Willis), and the meeting unanimous-' lv de-iided to increase his honorarium to twenty guineas.
