DETECTIVE lIOEY'S FATE. (Rec. September IG, 5.5 p.m.) London, September H. The late Detective Hoey had acted as bodyguard to three Irish Chief Secretaries.'lt was an open secret that ho went in fear of his life, as it was known that tho Sinn Feiners have prepared a long list of police victims. Two of thoso on the list, including Hoey, have thus far been murdered. It is staled that fifteen Sinn Feiners wero elected from Kfflie districts in tho west and south of Ireland to murder the police and other officials in their areas. Hoey was followed throughout the day before an opportunity was found. At least three bullets penetrated his body.
