'. Two kds. one aged H and tho other about 18. were charged in the Juvenile Court yesterday,-before Mr. B. Page, S.M., with the theft of two automatic ' pistols," 500 cartridges, and J!3-Bs. 3d. in money, tho total radio being .£l6 18s. 3d., the property of-E. W -Mills and Co., Ltd.. Both accused pleadel guilty. Sub-Inspector Emerson stated that the, younger • lad was employed by E. "W. Mills and Co., and ho and the other lad. secreted themselves. in a room.ou the premises just before closing time, and when the premises ..were closed they came out of their hiding-place, and had to cut through a door. They secured Dossession of tho money and tho goods named;, and. lot themselves out by ( the cart' entrance. The- elder boy dropped his pockot-book, which furnished- the. clue to their identity. ■ ' >,•■ Plain Clothes Constablo Wallaco said that ho interviewed the, boys, and had recovered tho pistoh and- some of the ■cartridge's. The money (JE3 Bs. 3d.)- and cartrriges worth £$ lis. had not been recovered. ■' ' ■
Tho Kev. Fielden Taylor 6aid that ho j knew the'vouuger'lad, and was willing to keep nn oyo on tho boy, who was reallyq' a'Rood lad who had apparently yield- ■ crl to a sudden temptation. '
His .Worship placed the two lads on probation for n periol of two years, and ordered each lo pay half the amount not recovered; .£G 14s. 3d.
