PROFITEERING ACT IN OPERATION
FIRST ORDER IN BRITAIN.
London, September 13. The Board of Trade has issued its first order under tho Profiteering Act, which became effective on September 11. The list of scheduled goods includes articles of clothing, household utensils, furniture, building materials, and many uncontrolled foodstuffs, particularly bottled, tinned and dried, and patent foods. , Six hundred local authorities are establishing anti-profiteering committees.— Aus.-N.Z.
