WELCOME 'AT PICTON. By Telegraph,—Press ABfiociatlon. Picton, September 13. H.M.iS. New Zealand anchored in Pictoii Harbour this morning. Viscount 'Jellicoe ■ and party, oil landing, were welcomed by a large concourse on tlia waterfront, and the Maoris present Rave haltas. His Lordship was presented with a Maori battle-axe, and Lady Jellicoe with a native mat. The ladies of the Picton Navy League presented to tlia ship a silver cup. After being officially welcomed at the council chambers by the' Mayors of Picton and Blenheim, Lord Jellicoe was entertained at luncheon by local bodies. The entertainment, programme for the men is being carried out this afternoon and. will be continued this evening. Beautiful weather prevails. The town is crowded with visitors. BETTJBN VISIT TO WELLINGTON. , According to the official itinerary. 11.M.5. Now Zealand is due to, call at Wellington to-day. The battleship will remain in the stream during her fjtay here on this ocpasion, but there is a possibility of the men being granted leavo on one day, while on oti>er days landing parties will probably come ashore, and for this purpose a portion of the Customhouse Quay Wharf has been set apart. No definite advice has been received as to what leavo wffil bo granted the officers and men, hut should auy further entertainment or sports be required, the Entertainments Committee will be in readiness to undertake anything in that direction. A feature of tho visit will "be a searchlight display, to bo given from tlie vos> gel on a date 'to bo announced later. —-The battleship will remain in Wellingtoil until-Friday, when she will proceed to Auckland vii Napier, remaining at the northern port from September 21 untK October 3. ; .
