A Maori child, replenishing a fire on the Itangitaki swamp, where workmen were engaged, accidentally gathered up some detonators with an armful of wood. The explosion shattered the child s hand, which had to be amputated at the hospital. BODY FOUND IN LAKE. Hawera, September 12. Mwy Ann Crocker, aged 70, wife ot Jaif.is Cinciter, a retired farmer, has be I .') rscorlc-d missing from the home 'nt Normanbv. A search made revealed the l>odv of the old lady in a Inke near the residence of Mr. Crocker, at present an inmate of a privato hospital at Hawera.
