WELLINGTON;BOYStLEAGUE, i : Tho annual meeting of the Wellington Boys' Cricket' League was held this v/ce'lc,Mr. P. W. Banks presiding. The annual tapori, which , was 1 adopt, cd, statod that in spite of tho juaiiy difficulties that beset the league' tho months of October, November,' ojid December, 1918, the league enjoyed-possibly 0110 of the. most successful' seasons in its; history. The influenza gave'tho lcaguo a decided setback and-from November-' 9 to December 7 all matches had to bo* caucelled. Two new' clubs, joined thfc leaguo at tho commencement, of tho season. The senior competition was won by St. Cuthbert's, the. Junior A bv .Institute A, and tho Junior B by Institute' C. Full sets -of medals were presented to the successful clubs, and tho following special medals and trophies were also presented:—Senior' bowling, F. J.' Eton (St. Cuthbert's); senior batting, C. : Recvo (St. Cuthbert's); Mr. M'ChiskcyV medal for the niost improved' jilayer i»'" the senior grade, F. J, Eton (ot; Cuthbert's); junior bflwling,.Chandler (Tn-i stitute C); junior batting,'..J..Banks (In-, stituto A).; Mr. ltoss'6. medal for tho ; host all-round junior player, g. Dempster (In-stitute-A); E.W. Mills, and Co.'s bat,for highest average .in- the-.W.8.C.L., J.. Banks (Institute A); hat presented,, by Wellington Boys' League, for most successful collector towards tho leaguo funds, E. Davis (Marist). _ During" the New Year senior and junior representative teams visited Christchurch, ■ tho . visitbeing returned during the Easter, lioli--, days;- The results of tlio above games areas follow:—The senior ,teaui lost -at' Christchurch, but won their gaiiio .in Wellington; the junior team wen theirgame in Christchurch, (ind-dreyr.in Wei- ~ lington.
