EARTHQUAKES AT THAMES
■ SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE. The Secretary ■of the General Post Office last, night, reciev.ed the following advice from the .Chief Postmaster, Thame?:— "Three shock? of .earthquake occurred this evening. Particulars are as follow: beginning ii.DT, O.'t-', nnd* 5.W. Verified south-west lo north-east: in each case, seven seconds, two seconds, and two seconds, Buildings shaken fairly severely; clocks Mopped. Some chimneys slightly damaged. .Slight, destructive damage. 'Humbling.' during shocks (three)." The Postmaster, Tnurnngn, also report- ■ '•Earth tremor experienced hern .VI" p.m. to-day, lasling about 15 seconds. Direction apparently cast to west. No damage reported."
