THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 PIMI YESTERDAY. Present indications are for southerly wiuds, strong to gale at times, veering to westerlies shortly, northwardß of Woatport and Kaikoura, and increasing northcrließ elsewhere. Unsettled, squally weather probable, with rain generally, and heavy rain following in districts with a westerly aapoet. Barometer rise temporarily in - the , . north, but falling in the south.
The weather has continued unsettled generally, with rain in many parts. Heavy i ruin and flooded rivers have been reported in the East Coast districts of the North Island, and in Marlborough. Higli southeast and south wiiuiß have predominated, but northerlies have ruled to-day in the southern half of the South Island. The cyclone centre is now passing off East Oa.De, and a. westerly disturbance in apparently approaching, B. V. PEMBEB't'ON. • Meteorological Office, Wellington, September 12, .1919.
