Described by his first wife as idle; and by the second woman as tho best husband in the world, John Davics, a chemical labourer, was sentenced to two days' imprisonment at Flintshire Assizes for bigamy, and was immediately released. An official return of sea fisheries for England and Wales in May shows that 817,3390wt, of fish wero landed, as compared with 505,752cwt. >n the corresponding month of last year. The value of tho catches was .£1,176,123, as against .£1,121,• 787 in Moy, 1818.
