DEPARTURE FROM LYTTELTON. Bjr 'plPCTo.vn- -l'r?r.n * ChristchurcH, September 12. H.M.S. New Zealnnd left Lyttolton for Picton at 6.10 p.m.. Admiral Viscount Jeilicoe returned from the south 'by motor-car during the afternoon. A huge crowd lined the waterfront to see tho departure of the battle-cruiser. A grot-, esquely-clad jazz band from the White Star liner Athenic was allowed to go alongside the New Zealand and play-un-canny music. The sailors, who were crowdedfalong the cruiser's decks, lou'ljy encored each selection, and lustily joined in the choruses of 0 number of popular and patriotic songs. .
