RAILWAY COMMISSION
THE APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED. Tho appointment of- the Railway Commission was announced in the House of Representatives yesterday by the' Prime Minister. Tho members of the commission, sakl Mr. Massey, wore to be Messrs. J. P. Maxwell, J. Marchbanks, and W. D. Hunt. Eq thought they would mako their report before the end of Die session wituout any difficulty. Hon. A. M. Myers: Will tho order of reference he submitted to tho House? Mr. Massey: I am quito willing to inform the House of tho order of leferonco. It will bo drafted by the Solici-tor-General, and mado quite comprehensive. > Mr. R. Scrapie: Have theso gentlemen had previous oj-.periuce of railway matters? Mr, Massey: I don't think any man in New Zealand has had more experience of railway matters than Mr. Maxwell. Mr.; Marchbanks is. a competent engineer, 'Mr. Hunt is a well-known business man.'
