CHARGE AGAINST STATE OFFICIAL Sydney, September 11. A case i 9 proceeding in which Mr. Chudloigh, coft'l 1 inspector -for the Railway Department, and Mr. Stead, a colliery manager, aro charged with conspiracy with others, whoso names aro unknown, to defraud the Railway Department. The Crown- caso alleges that corrupt payments were niado to induce the acceptance of certain contracts extending over a considerable period. Largo sums are involved.—Press Assn.
