The "Star's" Dublin correspondent states that during tho disturbances at Ferinov tho terrified inhabitants barricaded their houses. The soldiers sacked trrocers and jewellers' houses and stores, and several adjacent premises. The lootine was unlimited. Soldiers handed out bundles of drapery, boots, and other srdbds to their comrades, and many wo< men assisted in the destruction and plun, der. Eventually a small military picket, with fixed bayonets, arrived. Tho buriers sounded the "fall-in," the rioters answered the summons, and order was restored—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. [On Sunday morning, eighteen soldiers tinder a sergeant wore marching to a Methodist Churc'h at Ferinoy to attend service, when they were attacked by twentv armed Sinn Foiners, who covered tlinin with revolvers and ordered them to lav down their arms in the namo of tho Irish republic. A street battle ensued and one man was killed and two wounded. .Tho soldiers were, however, at a disadvantage, and the Sinn l'eiiiers disarmed them, and escaped m motors cars.! ■ ■ - IMMEDIATE CAUSE OP THE RIOT.
