FORECAST AND SUMMARY . . AT -4 P.M, YESTERDAY. Present, indications are for south-east windß, strong to gale, southward of Now' Plymouth and Napier, and northerlies, backing to soutliorlies soon, elsewhere. Weather unsettled, cloudy, and misty, with rain generally, and heavy rain and rivers rising in many parts ot the North Island and north-cast districts of the South ißland. Snow probably in tho high country. Barometer fall, but rise shortly. Cloudy conditions have overspread the Dominion since Tuesday night, and rain has fallen to-day in tho North' Island. A cyclone centre !iaß been located oil ths. West Coast of tho North Island, and north-oast to south-east winds havo prevailed and have increased everywhere m force, ]!. V. PEMBEETON.
