GERMAN DEPORTEES FROM AUSTRALIA
SCENES ON AEEIYAL AT EOTTER. DAM. (Eec. Setpember !), 9.30 p.m.) London, September' 8. The Trazosmontes (from Australia) has '.discharged 1500 German prisoners at Eotterdam. A clean bill of health was given for tho voyage. There were no influenza cases. Intense anti-British, and anti-Australian"feeling-'was displayed.'but in-' cipieut insubordination was stopped with a strong hand. Olio man .attempted, a hunger strike, but it only lasted four days. Tho Dutch authorities carried out the transfer without delay. A hot meal was waiting the Germans on disembarking, and the prisoners were quickly dispatched, to Germany in two special trains.
A party/of "Diggers" climbed the masts of 'tho vessel and sang, ''Australia will ■bo there!" The prisoners retorted, crying out, "So will the Germans!" Australian officers and men on the Trazosmontes who visited Kotterdam are convinced that Holland is strongly: -.pro-Gorman.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. -.
