THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications aro for easterly winds, strong' to gale, northward of Now Plymouth and Napier, and freshening north-east winds elsewhere, veering to south-east shortly in the south. Weather fair, but becoming cloudy and misty in many parts, ■with rain following, and heavy rain in the northernand East Coast districts of the North Island. Barometer fall, but rise soon on the southern districts. Tho weather has been fair generally, but unsettled at times in the extreme north and south. High easterly winds have prevailed north-west of Kawhia and East Cape, and variable breezes elsewhere. Atmospheric prcssuro luib. decreased slightly today. B. T. PEMBERTON.
