Tho engagement is announced of Miss Doris Eveline Martin, second daughter of Mr. V. Martin, Queen Street, Fcilding, to Mr. W. Wilkinson, late of the Seventh. Reinforcements, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry" Wilkinson, also of Feilding. The engagement is announced of Mis.i Peggy Kendall, younger daughter of Dr. 11. W. If. Kendall, of Wellington, to Mr. Guy H. Robieson, only eon of .Mr. G. A. Robieson, of Oriental Bay, and lalo of the N.H.F.A.; also of Miss Doris Robieson, daughter oi Mr. G. A. Robieson, of Oriental Bay, tcr Mr. Lawrenco , D. Foster, older son of Mr. W. Foster, of Oriental Baj', and Jate lieut., N.Z.F.A. Miss Edwards, assistant to the Karori borough clerk, has resigned her position' owing to ill-health. At tho closo of tho address given by Miss Coad last evening in connection with tho Women's National Council conference, a discussion took place regarding tho accommodation of women who' wcro sent to teach in country schools. Several somewhat appalling instances were related of what liad to be put up .with in this respect, and finally the meeting passed the following resolution: "That tho council bring before tho education conference . which takes placo shortly tho matter of accommodation for teachers in country districts."
