There are j also planted on the property 25,000 Pinus I Insignis (future case timber). | (2) To open a semi-wholesale establishment | in a central position in Wellington with a view j to supplying and delivering fresh fruit daily from j the orchards of Nelson direct to the public of this j city and suburbs at wholesale rates. It will have the following great advantages j over the ordinary successful fruitgrower I (a) It will have its own bush and sawmill plant, which will enable the 1 Company to provide cases and building timber at the iowest cost. j (b) Et will have large cool storage accommodation and will thus be able | to supply fruit in and out of season at the lowest possible rates. | (c) The fruit will be handled in the Company's own Packing and Grad- < ing Sheds, thus ensuring quality and prompt and regular delivery. (d) It will be in a position to deal with the by-products of the orchard \ such as evapoured apples, sitter, apple vinegar, etc. | • (e) It will have a semi-wholesale and distributing warehouse in Wellington, which should enable it to deliver fresh fruit from the orchards daily at a price approximately 25 per cent, to SO per cent, less than j the retailer is charging in other centres, thus making fruit, which is one of the best foods in the markets, also one of the cheapest. (f) Its orchards are planted with the best varieties of apples for export or local markets, and produce fruit of a quality equal if not superior to any in the world. (g) When canning materials revert to the pre-war prices the Directors will consider the canning of apples and other fruits. It is proposed to: — (1) Plant Pine Forests on an extensive scale at MILDURA with the view of improving the estate and supplying cases and timber in the future. (2) To import Orchard Machinery and Motor Sprayers, Spraying and Packing materials and other lines necessary to improve the Company's business. (3) To act as Distributors, Exporters, and Dealers in all classes of fruit,, ( .
