The Wairar'apa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at Masterton on September 3. Competition was keen for all classes of stock. Prices -were:—Small- 2-tooth wethers. 325. to 345.; culls. 265. 6d. to 265. lid.; fjood* hoggets, 31a., 32a., 32b. €d., 345. to 375. 6d.; medium hoggets, 245., 25n. 6d., 26s.;'cull hoggets. 145., 15s. 6d. to 1T«. 2d. Cattle: Springing cows, in low condition, £8 &, £fi tos„ £9 to £10 10a.; 2-year steers, £9; cows, with calvos at foot. £10 10s. to £13 10s.; Polled Angus cows, in calf, £10 12s.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercontilo Agency Co.. Ltd.. report on their I'ahiatua sale;—Wo had a small entry of sheep and cattle. Sheep sold at about late sale rateß. 1 Dairy heifers were again somewhat dull. We quote:—F;iir hoggets. 235. Id.; empty ewes, 18s.; dairy cows, £13.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their Master- ' ton sale:—Wo had a small entry, consisting of hoggets. Small hoggets, 18s. 7d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., report that on Tuesday thoy conducted a clearing sale of dairy stock, etc., on account of Jfr. E. P. Greathead, at the farm. Otalti Railway, There was a good attendance of buyers present, and considering the cows were in low condition, the vendor waa well satisfied with prices obtained, viz.,:—Lest cows, spring culvers, £15 to £18 10s.; r'nliuni do., £11 to £14 155.; heifers, in milk, £9 10b. to £10 10s.: springing heifers. £10 16s. to £18 17b. fid.; storo cows, £< £s to £7 '50,; Jersey bull, £11; Jp-si-v -ross •weaner heifers, £4 65.; others, J2s. (d. to £3 95.; horse, dray, and harnonn, £28pony, gig, and harness, M; spring dray and harness, £16; sundries sold at' full market values. Offerings of (allow were E37i tons; only 670 tons were sold. Prices averaged: Mutton, fine. 107s. per cwt.; medium, Ms. Dcr cwt.; beef, 110s. to 945. per cwt. Jfr. Charles Hanson, of Wniouru Station, which comprises 70,000 acres of pumico formation country, has disposed of tho leasehold to Mr. W. Scholium, of Auckland. Tho station lies near Mount li'iiapahu, and comprises sheep and agricultural land, and the price paid by the purchaser was approximately J225.000. ?Tr. W. Y. Itirkman, who has been eonnccled with tho New Zealand Dairy Assockiion for somo years, hug been appointed superintendent for the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., with headquarters at Hamilton.
