' ' ' ■ : - Asked regarding j. the progress being made iu respect to the report being prepared for the New Zealand Government on naval matters, Viscount Jellicoo replied: "I am trying.to work on it in the intervals of hosp<;ality, and I managed to got a fairly good day at it, yesterday." Reference was made by tho reporter to tho cabled summary of Lord "Fisher's lottor to "Tho Times,'" and Viscount .Jellicoo was askod if lie would carp to mako any comment on it. / '..,-.. "What do you think Lord Fisher, means?" Viscount Jellicoo asked in turn. Well, said tho reporter, it looks as if he has gono over to tho. pacifists.: , , . The Admiral thought otherwise, and was of tho opinion that underlying' Lord Fisher's statements regardjug the scrapping of tho existing British Navy- was an idea that a bigger and more.modern Navy should he built. However, Viscount Jellicoe pointed out it was difficult to comment on a cable:'summary'of-Lord Fisher's letter, and ho preferred not to go fmlaher into tho subject.
