The House of Representatives sat at 2.30 p.m. Mr. W. A. Yeitoa (Wanganui) gave notice of the Proportional Representation Bill. Dr. A. K. Newman (Wellington Jiaet) gave notioe of the Temporary Employees Bill: Notices of motion were given by Ministers for imo setting -up of sessional oommittees. , , ■ The PRIME MINISTER suggested that this formality should be dispensed with, and that the committees be set up without delay to do work already waiting for them. Hβ said that except in cases where members had died the personnel of oommittees waa the same as Test year. SIR JOSEPH WARD (Leader of the Opposition) said that he hoped the Prime Minister would not press this matter. It was of importance that members should have notioe of dhe names of members to constitute committees. _ Ther« had been dissatisfaction in certain swtions of the' House with the constitution of committees laet session under a National Government, and in this session under n partv Government the question wa9 of importance. Mr. Mossey said that as objection thad been raised he would not urge hie proposal further. At the same time he would remind the Lender of the Opposition that the euggcetion that committees should be set up immediately had Iwjt been made by Sir Joseph Ward himself. Ministers proceeded to givo notice of their oommittees in the usual war. Mr. J. A. Hannn (Invercargill) nave notice of the Invercargill Borough Boimtlf'ies Kstensio-i Bill. 'Mr. R. Semple (Wellington South) pave notice of the Mining Amendment Bill.
