Mr. Pritchard criticised and condemned the National Government. He also referred to' Sir Joseph Ward's recent man), festo. The proposal contained in the manifesto that, as a mark of appreciation of the services of tho women ffl New Zealand during the war, women should be granted full political rights, was a most insidious one. Mr. Pritchard outlined at some length the various planks in the platform-of the Labour Party. Eeferring to the question of a State bank he disagreed with the Liberal proposal' that the Bank of Now Zealand should be bought out. The Post Offico r ' Bank, ho thought, should be made a « ch'etrao bank. He referred to the great success of the State Bank in tlie Commonwealth of Australia.
