Present indications are for strong and squally westerly to southerly winds and coljl, changeable weather generally, with ehowers In runny parts; snow in ' ■ the higher levels in the south. Barometer unsteady, but rising soon. The storm centre has paused to Ihe eastward of tho Chatham Islands since last night, but. atmospheric . pressure hae decreased again in the south to-day. Southwest winds, strong to gale, have prevailed, nnd heavy rain, hail and snow showers fell during Monday night, especially over the South -Island.
