To show how crowded the infant school at Clyde Quay ie, it is stated that on tho Kducation Department's area basis of 12 square feel , for oacli child in 'i oJass-ro.'Ui, the infant department should accommodate 208 children, but there are. ftb tho present time 288 on the roll. In ono class-room there should be only UK desks where 35 desks are being tilled, and in another there should be 2(1 desks where there aro 31—facts which prove conclusively that ejtra t>lasa-room» rnunl be provided if the health requirements (as Jaid down by the Pepanmcnr) are to be fulfilled.
