Tho Federation of School ■Committees' Associations continued its sessions in tho Education Board rooms yesterday afternoon. Mr/ A. G. Wallace presided. 1 eoiistitution for the federation (which had been formed o'nly on tho previous dsvy) wis adopted, it was stated that there would be a membership « over fifty affiliated associations.. The following oilice-beiiiers were eloet-ed-.-President, Mr. A. G. Wallace; vicepresidents, Messrs. S. G. Smith, M.P. (Taranaki), J. 1G llornblow (Manawatu), \. E. Evans (Canterbury), and Cv J. Talbot, M.P. (Temuka.); secretary mid treasurer, Mr. A. J. White (Wellington); committee, Mrs. S. Snow (Wellington), Messrs. D. A. Pickering ' (Wsiirurapa), H. Lβ Grange (Palmereton North,; j H. Potter (Auckland). H. Brenton-Bulo (Wellington), L. D. Ritchie (Dunedin), W. G. Glover (Motuefca)). Tho following resolutions were carried 1 : "That in appointing teachers to the country districts more attention bo given to the matter of residences (where provided), and if no residence provided suitable accommodation be found for them; and, l further, that no female junior teachers be appointed or transferred by any board to any centre unite* satisfied thai accommodation is provided." ~ , ~, ' "That all schools be provided with a proper heating apparatus."
