Bonds ... 96 0 0 — CUSTOMS REVENUE.. Customs revenue collected at the tort of Wellington yesterday amounted to £880019 a. NATIONAL BANK. The" net profit earned by the National Bank of New Zealand during tho year onded March 31 last amounted to £186,862, as compared with £148,995 for the previous year. Tho' sum available for distribution was shown at.. £232,432. The return to shareholders was 12 per cent, by way of dividend, and 1 per cent, by way of bonus, -the'~saino' as for 1917-18, absorbing £97,500, of which £45,000 was paid as an interim dividend. Tho Bum of £20,000 has been added to the reserve fund, £25,0C0 'has been. written off' premises account, £12,500 has been' paid as a,bonus to the staff, £5000 has been allocated .to depreciation of investments, and £7500 to pension fund. A balance of £64.932 is carried forward, ajraiust £45,549 brought into the accounts. , The capital, of the bank has since : been |,: increased by the issue, of 100,000. new | shares at a premium. of £3 * per share. ,-Lloyd's Bank took up 50,000 of these new | shares. By this issue the capital will be raised to £1,000,000, in addition there will'be uncalled capital amounting to £2,600,000, and the reserve fund will stand 1 at £1,030,000, ....
