ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegrapn—Sßeuial Correspondent." Palmerston North, August 31. At the annual general meeting of share., holders of the, Buniiiythorpe Dairy Company,' over which Mr. J. Print presided, the annual report of the directors stated that the cheese manufactured during the year amounted to 230 tons, the yield per pound of butter-fat being 2,62 pounds. The whey butter made was 2 tons 16 civt. 2cjrs., all of which Iwus sold to the Imperial Government. The creamery butter made was IS tons' 18cwt. 2qr. Mb., of which 10 tons was sold to the Imperial Government, and the balance locally. Both the cheese yield and the butter overrun had been quite up to standard. In accordance with tho wishes of members, a store'was established at the factory during'■ the year, and it had met with a fair amount of success. Efforts were beipg niade to increase the turnover .by sending out for orders and delivery by the stores manager. At ths date of closing the balance-sheet there wore 89S cases of cheese in Wellington stores awaiting shipment, of which 101 cases had since been shipped.
The balance-sheet showed the paid-up tnpitftl to amount to ,£2084, sundry creditors <£1187, reserve accounts <£'524, and duo to,the Bank of New Zealand d£ISGS. The cheese manufacturing account showed that the amount paid for butter-fat was JC15.112; cheese-making materials, ,£1374; salaries and wages, .£1035. The sales of oliocse accounted for .£22,303. sales of whey, butter £ig2, stock of cheese J6106 Bs. 4(1., stock of whey butter .IMS 12s. The balance carried to appropriation account beiufr .£3711 Bs. lfld, The butter manufacturing- account showed .£345 3s. 2d. paid for salary and wages, e62492 ICs. for butter-fat, and sundry small, amounts. Sales of' butter accounted for .£3391 Cs. 3d., and stock of butter for ,£93 15s. lid. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Messis. T., Howler and ,T. M'Farland were re-elected directors, and Mr. C. P. Hempsy was reappointed auditor. I!he recommendation of the directors that a further payment of l)tl. per pound of butter-fat suppled (making the total amount is. IOJd. per N pound) for cheese manufacture, and a further payment, of Id. per pound (malting a total of I<=. Sid.) for butter manufacture wa3 adopted. At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr. .T, Print mis re-elected chairman for the ensuing year.
