MONTHLY MEETING REORGANISATION OF THE STAFF . Mr. F. Caslle (chairman) presided nt the monthly meeting of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board ndd yesterday afternoon. Van Staveren, Mrs. Aitken, Mrs. Heck, Mrs. M'Vicar, and Mrs. Snow. Finance Matters. The following recommena'ationa of the Finance Committee were approved:— That tho offer of J:3O or the Wellington College Old Girls' Association for tne establishment of a. cot in tho children's hospital be accepted with . thanks and appreciation. A name-plate will be, placed either on or above a special cot. That Nurse M. Ongiey (at present sister in charge of women's turn children's wards, Nelson Hospital) be appointed district nurso in the ParupaMuunu district at ii salary of Jilßi) per luinum and travelling expenses. That the resignation of the registrar, Mr. J, \V. Salmon, be accepted with regret, and an appreciation, of his services nas been recorded. That Mr. Roland A. Campbell be appointed junior clerk. That in regard to the reorganisation of the head offlcn staff, Air. J. Coyle be secretary und treasurer, and Mr. S. Robinson be registrar and receiver of maintenance fees. The registrar's primary duties will be to take' control of the accounts o£ all patients and to supervise all work entailed in keeping the hospital register, etc. That ho bo empowered to arrange with patients, on their discharge or otherwise, in regard to payment of their accounts in lull, in part, or ior writing off. That tho property of patients bo in his custody and control. Mr. R. Brown be promoted to accountant, und Mr. (}. W. Elby be promoted to chief clerk. That the atmospheric steam system of vacuum heating bo curried out in wards four and seven of the General Hospital, and that it be installed under the supervision of tlib board's engineer in consultation with the Government consulting engineer. Hospital Committee's Recommendations, Tho following recommendations of the Hospital Committee were approved:— That having inquired into the circumstances of the refusal to allow the medical practitioner appointed by the Waterside Workers' Union to examine a. patient, admitted lo the hospital from s.s. Briton, this committee is of opinion that Uie action taken by the acting-medical superintendent was justifiable and commendable. That a disinfector be obtained for Hie use of the Infections Diseases and new Fever Hospitals, and that tenders be invited for the necessary plant, comprising fumigntor and boiler—the construction of tho building to be umici'iaken by tho "board's stuff, with outside assistance, if considered necessary.
