A complimentary concert was given to the officers and crow of 11.M.5. New Zealand in tho Town Hall last night by the_ Wellington' Scots Society. The fallowing contributed to an enjoyable programme Misses Helen M'Lcilan, Eileen M'Carthy, and Masters Winston M'Carthy, Thomas George, John Waters' and Cjril Waters (songs), Misses Jean M'Lny and Marie M'Carthy (recitations), Misses Rita Hands, Alice Campbell, Jean Jelly, Hori Need ham, Thelma M'Konzie, Jean M'Laehl&n, Lizzie Taylor, and Gladys Needhnm (dnuas). A glee party, composed of tho following pupils from tho Marist Brothers' School, Thorndoh, contributed excellent items:—Mnsters J, and C. Waiters, T. George, E, Murphy, and J. Damlerson. Mrs. Emenson actcd as accompanist.
A "record" year for the Glasgow Corporation Tramways closed on June 2. Tho revenue from fares totalled fully J!l,500,000, an increase of ,£123,000 over that of 1917-18, while tho number of passengers inoreased by over 38,000,000; GO per cent, of tho total came from half-penny fares. Tho fares are still the samo as before the wax.
